Chunchon composite culture art center, a four-story building borrowed its architectural image from the curve of thatched roof(a Korean traditional housing style) and the curve of gynko leaves (Gynko is the tree of Chunchon city), with the touch of modernization.
The center features a performing theater that occupies 580 pyung, exhibition room of 332 pyung, outdoor music hall of 105 pyung; 16 rooms for exhibition, practices and make-up; 1,104-seated performing theater is fully equipped with simultaneous interpretation room. Sound effect and lighting are operated by state-of-art computer technology.
Also the vast plaza of the center is arranged to serve as citizen;s resting place.
89년 12월 착공하여 92년 12월 준공했다. 총공사비 159억 9천만원, 지하 2층, 지상 3층 건물로
첨단설비를 갖춘 공연장은 324명이 동시 출연할 수 있는 회전식.수평이동식 무대와 1108석의
객석, 5개의 분장실과 연습실, 소품실 등을 보유하고 있으며 조명장치와 음향기기도 컴퓨터
운영 방식으로 특수효과를 발휘한다.
작품 전시장은 이동식 칸막이를 설치했고 완벽한 조명과 리프트 설비, 특수 항온항습장치로
작품 전시와 보관에 각별히 신경을 쓰고 있다. 강원미술대전은 물론 국제적 규모의 마임축제
와 세계적 명성을 가진 오페라단을 초청, 문화예술인들의 호평을 받고 있다.
