3tc: a nucleoside analog drug that has fewer serious toxicities than other drugs of its class. 3TC has been approved in combination with AZT for the treatment of progressive HIV disease. Also called LAMIVUDINE, EPIVIR
5-fluorouracil (5-fu, effudex): a chemotherapeutic cream used to prevent and/or treat abnormal skin growths, neoplasias (especially cervical cancer) and warts.
-emia (suffix): the presence of a substance or component in the blood, e.g., viremia (presence of virus in the blood).
-penia (suffix): low levels or absence of a substance or component in the blood or serum (e.g., neutropenia indicates a low levels of neutrophils.
-poiesis (suffix): creation or formation (e.g., hematopoiesis is the formation of blood cells).
